Year 5 & 6 Cross Country
20th September 2018
Today was the first cross country meet of the season and it was held at Melbourne Park.
There were over 20 other schools taking part. The ground was hard and it was very windy!
We had 17 runners from our school and a special mention goes to one of our Year 6 girls who finished in 14th place.
Well done to all who took part and we look forward to the next race in two weeks’ time.
Chelmsford Sports & Athletics Centre
24th September 2018
On Monday, 24th September, two children from Year 6 went to Chelmsford Sports & Athletics Centre for Bronze Ambassador training. There were a lot of other schools at the event. When Mrs Robson had finished explaining what they needed to do to become good Bronze Ambassadors, they were put into groups.
The first event was a knockout skipping tournament. Competitors played off against each other until there was one outright winner.
The second event was a Round Robin tournament where they had to learn how to hold an event where there is one winner and runners up. They learnt how to be referees for the match.
The last event was a personal challenge at level zero. They did speed stacking and created a game to challenge themselves.
After that they were officially Bronze Ambassadors. They enjoyed the day and had lots of fun. They are looking forward to organising games for pupils in school.
Year 3 & 4 Cross Country
27th September 2018
Today was the first cross country meet of our year and it was held at Chelmer Park. For some of us it was the first cross country we have ever done! It was a very warm and sunny afternoon.
There were 17 runners from our school and a special mention goes to a boy in Year 3 who finished in 10th place.
Well done to all who took part and we are looking forward to the next race in two weeks’ time.
