Good Bye Bawdsey Manor
Wed 18 May 2022Wednesday 19th May - On our way home
They've been a lovely group to take away. The PGL leaders all said nice comments about our school and how well behaved and lovely all the children were. We are very proud of them. On our way home. Thank you to our staff and our lovely year 6 for a great time at Bawdsey. -

Tuesday has been another fun packed full day with archery, sensory trail and Jacob's Ladder. The children again have thrown themselves into all of the activities, supported each other and cheered each other on when they found things challenging. Dinner was preceded by a very competitive game of Capture the Flag which the children absolutely loved. We're now finishing the evening with Passport to the World, a quest to find all the flags from around the world! I suspect everyone will sleep well tonight!Sharon Derbyshire

Bawdsey Manor 22
Tue 17 May 2022The children have had yet another fun packed day of activities from raft building, trapeze, rifle shooting, to zip wire and many more as you will see from the photos. Everyone is happy and are having such a lovely time. We've had fabulous weather today and after dinner we took a walk along the beach, found crabs, and finished the day with team games including one where everyone had to impersonate a chicken! The teachers even took part to the children's delight! Alex won this, with a hilarious chicken impersonation, a memory that will stay with us forever! Every child is having a lovely holiday and all the adults have agreed, they are such a brilliant group to be away with. I think they will be sleeping well tonight, as will we!

Mon 16 May 2022Sunday 15th May
Arrived safely at Bawdsey Manor. The children have had a fabulous first day! The accommodation is first class. The centre is well run with beautiful grounds and there were no complaints for dinner with pizza, potato wedges, a self-service salad bar and chocolate profiteroles! The evening was rounded off with fun songs around the campfire. Every child has ended the day on a high! Let's hope they get some sleep, and the weather is good tomorrow!

School Meals - Price Increase
Wed 04 May 2022Dear Parents / Guardians, 3rd May 2022
School Meals – Price increase from Monday 6th June 2022.
After many years of the price remaining unchanged, there will be a 30p increase in the daily charge for a school meal, effective from 6th June 2022. This will mean that the cost of a school meal will be £2.50 per day. Unfortunately, this increase has been necessary due to rising costs across the catering function which the school cannot afford to subsidise. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will continue to receive Universal Infant Free School Meals.
St Pius X is committed to providing high quality meals to all the children and believes that this is important to the overall development of children, including their educational progress. We are sure you will agree that £2.50 per day or £12.50 per week still represents good value as the children receive freshly made meals which are nutritionally balanced and contain locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Derbyshire
