‘Together in God’s loving family, we believe, we learn, we grow.’
Hello Foundation Class parents! We hope you are well and enjoying time with your children! We miss them very much! There is no pressure to keep up with what children would have been doing at school during this time, but naturally you will want to support your child's continuing development so please dip into the ideas and resources here as you see fit. You should all have received a Parent Mail with a list of recommended websites to keep your children learning whilst at home. A copy of this list can be found below. In addition to these websites, please also check out the link below to MrMCMakingMemories.com where you will find some more excellent resources and advice. If you don't have the app 'Teach Your Monster To Read' then I highly recommend it! It is a fun, phonics game which progresses at each individual child's pace. It's around £4.99 on a phone or tablet but you can play for free on a computer! (Link below.) And Oxford Owl are currently offering their full library of e-books for free. (Link below.) They have a fabulous range of books for all stages so do check them out and keep listening to your children read as often as you can. Keep an eye on this page for updates and in the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.
We have been learning about dinosaurs for our topic this term. We have learnt about different types of dinosaurs, where they used to live, different features of a dinosaur and the differences between dinosaurs. For this topic, we read a range of "Harry and his bucketful of dinosaurs" books, and we made biscuits shaped like a dinosaur claw print, and we looked at fossils and dinosaur bones. Check our page to keep yourselves updated with what we have been doing in class!
