‘Together in God’s loving family, we believe, we learn, we grow.’
These books are suitable for readers with a slightly older reading age of 9-13 years. If your reading age is a little lower then check out some of the fantastic books I recommend in the '7-9 years' link on the previous page.
Reading age shouldn't stop you from enjoying books, but reading a book that is too old for you can spoil the magic and your learning journey because you don't quite yet understand what is going on in the story. It also doesn't matter what section you are reading from (7-9 years is the norm for Year 3 & 4) as long as you are reading something enjoyable to you. So, think about the books you're reading and choose ones that slightly challenge you but will also ensure you will understand the adventure you go on. If you end up in a bookstore or library, and are unsure what book is right for you, ask a member of staff - they are the experts in those books and will be able to recommend something for you.
For those of you continuing with this page, I really wanted to share some of the best books that I have read. Even as an adult, these books are wonderful, full of magic and adventure. They also teach you about some important concepts: betrayal, friendship, love and being yourself - things that you have to learn about as you grow up. You should find these in the '8-12' or '9-13 years' sections of bookshops or libraries. I have written a little review about each one, hoping to excite you into reading them, so click on a book and see what it's about...
